Concerned with the space that lies in between destinations, routines and obligations (the space between distances), Transit documents people on journeys. Here, stories are made of silence, monotonous sighings of trains or the mourning sound of an aching ship. By fate, destiny or chance, strangers are thrown together for a short while, forced to share an intimate space.
This space, the one between coordinates, is at once non-place and dream-place; loosened from performance, transitional and fleeting, it unties from geography. It is a place of surrender in which time accelerates and time stands utterly still. Neither tangible nor lost, suspended in mid-air like a horizon at twilight, our accumulated longings are all we are.
